Its a crazy coincidence that I updated to 3.5 and it YLOD on the very next gaming session. However the YLOD fix worked and I don't think this would be the case if it was a software issue.
dreamcast. Now if only someone would give me the 2 billion to develop and market it.
that this guy is all roboted up with a cybernetic lower jaw and all, but he has to wear an eye patch?
out on, is Two Worlds 2. The game has a neat spell, crafting, and multiplayer mode, but the marketing for it is terrible.
I thought they would have given up by now.
and I'll say it again today. Direct Download is more than ten years off in the U.S. or impossible, if verizon and google get their way with throttling. The biggest reason is download speed. I've just checked steam and it estimates 4.5 hours for 7.7 gig game (not including install). For games like GT5 your looking at 9 hours. This isn't even remotely acceptable now. Look how much people bitch about 20 minute PS3 installs. And we are talking current generation games next generation ...
A multiplatform company is no reason to own one specific console over another.
If Microsoft quits making Halo there's no point in owning a 360. And no Halo Reach doesn't deserve a AAA rating. When you are on sequel/spinoff number 5 you are no longer doing anything innovative...you are rehashing.
movie studios are already reducing the number of 3D movies they make as 3D isn't catching on. Just like know one wants to play a game for 4 hours with the wiimote, no one is going to want to play a game for 3 hours with these on their face.
Except that whole games sales slump thing.
The very reasons they give is because of the industries actions:
"Games are too long"
This is the # 1 reason why I rent, buy used, or skip a game. Why pay $60 for a game that can be beat in two sittings (e.g. Uncharted, Spiderman Dimensions). Nothing will make me buy these games for $60 EXCEPT making them longer. On the other side of the coin Two Worlds 2, Fallout New Vegas, GT 5, and LBP 2 are all released within a month of each other all have 100+...
or the percentage publishers take? Each console generation I buy less and less games. When games were $40 for the PS I bought multiple titles each paycheck. When they jumped to $50 for the PS2 I bought one a paycheck. Now I buy 2 or 3 a year. The biggest thing that has turned me off from gaming has been the fact DLC is 9/10 times stripped out of the game during development and play time. Play time went from 40 hours per title to 25 hours, to 10 now being the norm. Now playing a game is like m...
The movie studios are already paring back the number of 3d movies they are making because 3d is not taking off. 3D TV sales are not projected to do well because 90% of people polled DO NOT want to buy one because of the glasses.
As for Blu-ray, what has hamstrung it is cost. Yeah they look better but that doesn't add a 75 - 100% worth of value.
I will give credit where credit is do. Dragon Age had a nice art style in a fairly unique world, but outside that it was terrible. It was chock full of character & story cliche's, it was very linear, and the tactics were useless compared to pause and command. Let's not forget the EA DLC cash in, the launch DLC was almost as big as the game. It definitely didn't deserve the hype it received. Oblivion it was not.
let the video game industry convince them that it is your fault their business model is faulty?
disruptive...The game itself would push the envelope but what it brings to the industry as a whole would be extremely disruptive.
you could live in any region and create an account in any other region. You could buy their versions of games, trailers, etc. It doesn't work for movies though. I had done this for every region........as far as I know Sony did away with this, but since 90% of my accounts had been largely sat inactive only a couple were snagged in the shut down of this feature.
This article completely misses valid points.
Games suck because we have three publicly traded companies dominating the field. When you have shareholders involved the new goal of the company becomes "Sell the cheapest piece of shit for the most amount of money."
Gamers willingly defend actions that make gaming less of a value: Paying for internet access twice , buying DLC that is already on the disc, etc
When gamers stay with the fam...
This behavior is why we told you not to support this model. For those of you that bought a launch 360 and had xbox live from day one. It has now cost you $700 to use all the features of your console............
